Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham on Thursday said top Justice Department officials, including former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, must appear before Senate lawmakers to address allegations of bias at the department.
“It is imperative that he and others come before the Senate Judiciary Committee to fully explain how and why a FISA warrant was issued against Carter Page and answer questions about what appears to be, now more than ever, bias against President Trump,” Mr. Graham, South Carolina Republican, said in a statement.
Mr. Graham’s comments come hours after Mr. McCabe’s bombshell interview with the news program “60 Minutes.”
During the interview, Mr. McCabe said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein offered “multiple times” to wear a wire in meetings with Mr. Trump. He also said the Justice Department held meetings discussing removing Mr. Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and other Cabinet officials through the 25th Amendment.
Mr. Graham did not say if he would subpoena Mr. McCabe or Mr. Rosenstein, but he does wield such power as Judiciary chairman.
