ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The state Senate’s Democratic majority is planning a series of public hearings examining New York’s public transit systems.
Senate Majority Leader Andrew Stewart-Cousins, of Yonkers, announced Wednesday that the first meeting will be held Tuesday in Manhattan in the Senate Hearing Room at 250 Broadway.
Among the topics expected on the agenda are management of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, ridership concerns, the Long Island Rail Road, and funding formulas for upstate transit systems, including Buffalo’s Metro Rail.
The other hearings will be held on Long Island, the Hudson Valley, Syracuse and Buffalo, with dates and locations to be announced next week.
The hearings will be led by Sen. Tim Kennedy, of Buffalo, and Sen. Leroy Comrie, of Queens.
