An innocent and well-intentioned question from Kirk Cousins backfired in a big way.
The Minnesota Vikings and former Redskins quarterback wrote on Twitter he felt like doing a giveaway for Vikings fans. He asked his followers “what do you want me to giveaway?” and included four options in a poll on Tuesday.
But, perhaps predictably, many replied with snarky answers that fell into the “other” category:
Giveaway anything but the ball

How about a win against a team with a winning record

Other, give us a Super Bowl or at the very least playoffs!

How about a playoff birth and not losing to the Bills and Bears 2nd string? I missed that option on your poll

Cousins’ first season with the Vikings didn’t go as planned. After signing a three-year, $84 million deal last offseason, Cousins and the Vikings finished 8-7-1 and missed the playoffs.
