FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) - A tentative contract agreement has been reached in Ohio between Wright State University’s administration and its faculty union’s executive committee.
The tentative pact was reached Sunday. Striking faculty members returned to classrooms Monday.
Wright State President Cheryl Schrader said in a statement that the agreement serves the university and students.
Marty Kich, president of Wright State’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors, said in the release that the faculty hopes things return to normal for students as soon as possible.
Faculty members began picketing Jan. 22 over issues including health care.
The university in the Dayton suburb of Fairborn says its trustees planned to meet Monday night to discuss collective bargaining.
The union says the tentative agreement will be presented to its members for a ratification vote.
