CINCINNATI (AP) - An auction site says Cincinnati’s Showboat Majestic has been sold.

Late last year, Cincinnati announced it would sell the showboat, which has floated on the Ohio River for nearly a century. Bidding began at $10,000 and after 88 bids, was finally concluded Friday - with the ship officially selling for $110,100.

The ship is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so the new owners must comply with a number of regulations and must enter into a new preservation agreement with Ohio and the National Park Service.

Built in 1923, the Majestic is 42 feet wide, 150 feet long and two stories tall. Cincinnati bought it from Indiana University in 1967.

The identity of the bidder is masked by the auction company, which couldn’t be reach for comment.
