The Anthony Rendon rumors are underway.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, MLB general managers think the Texas Rangers are the favorites to land Rendon in free agency this winter. Rendon, 29, is coming off a season in which he finished third in NL MVP voting and won a World Series with the Washington Nationals.
Several executives during the GM meetings insisted that the Texas #Rangers are the favorites to land free-agent third baseman Anthony Rendon, and on Sunday, he met for the first time with the Rangers’ contingent in his hometown of Houston, per @Evan_P_Grant

Rendon, too, met with the Rangers on Sunday in his hometown of Houston, the Dallas Morning News reported. No offer was made, but the team sent a “contingent of officials” to the meeting. Rendon is the Rangers’ favorite position player on the market, the paper reported.
In September, Rendon reportedly turned down a seven-year, $200 million deal from the Washington Nationals.
At a public appearance on Monday, Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo declined to give an update on where the team’s talks stand with the third baseman.
