EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Artur Labinowicz had a season-high 24 points as Evansville narrowly defeated Murray State 78-76 in overtime on Saturday night.
The Purple Aces (9-4) never trailed in the extra period and John Hall’s 3-pointer gave them a 75-71 lead with 3:14 left.
DeAndre Williams added 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three blocks for Evansville (9-4). K.J. Riley added 16 points.
The Purple Aces forced a season-high 20 turnovers.
Evansville led 41-27 at the half but Murray State rallied in the second period, outscoring Evansville 42-28 and Tevin Brown capped the surge with a 3-pointer in the final two seconds that tied the game 69-all and sent it into overtime.
Brown tied a career high with 31 points for the Racers (6-5). KJ Williams added 10 points and nine rebounds. DaQuan Smith had 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Evansville matches up against Missouri State on the road next Tuesday. Murray State faces Cumberland University at home next Saturday.
