NEW CANAAN, Conn. (AP) - A nearly 2-year-old boy died Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle in the driveway of a New Canaan home, police said.
Police and emergency medical services arrived at the home within a few minutes of a 911 call, Lt. Jason Ferraro said. The child received emergency care at Norwalk Hospital before succumbing to his injuries.
The accident is under investigation by members of police accident reconstruction teams from Wilton, Darien and New Canaan.
“We ask that the entire New Canaan Community put this child and the child’s family in their thoughts and prayers,” Ferraro said. “We are all grieving as we cope with this tragic loss.”
His name wasn’t released.
