Trent Williams is not only prepared to carry his holdout into the regular season, but the Pro Bowl left tackle maintains he has no plans to play for the Washington Redskins ever again.

NBC Sports Washington reported Williams won’t be returning “anytime soon” after losing faith in Washington’s front office. That echoes other reporting from CBS Sports and The Washington Post.

“He’s not coming back. Period,” a source told NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay.

Williams has missed all of Washington’s offseason program and training camp. He is reportedly upset with the team’s medical staff over the handling and diagnosis of a benign tumor on his scalp, which needed to be surgically removed. There are also indications that Williams is disgruntled over his contract as doesn’t he have any guaranteed remaining money after this season.

Speaking to ABC 7 this week, team president Bruce Allen said “it is where it still remains” about Williams’ status.

Allen said he hopes Williams returns, but did not indicate if the two sides have had positive conversations about what it would take for the tackle to show up.

“It’s unfortunate,” Allen said. “We love him. His teammates want him here, but he’s not here right now.”

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Saturday he would “seriously doubt” Washington would look to trade Williams.
