HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - Sports apparel company Nike has announced plans to bring a new distribution center to northern Mississippi.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports the facility is expected to open in Marshall County in spring 2020. The location will be about 10 miles (16 kilometers) south of Collierville, Tennessee.

The center is expected to create 250 logistics and supply chain jobs.

Nike Inc. closed a distribution center in Memphis in February. However, company spokesperson Greg Rossiter says Nike is growing in the region.

Rossiter says all employees from the Memphis facility were offered or accepted roles at other facilities in the area. Nike has five in Memphis, including two that are owned by third-party companies.
