Two men were injured and taken to the hospital for trauma care after a gas line exploded at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reports said Thursday afternoon.
According to police, “two men were working on a gas line in a vending area on the 300 level of the stadium when a spark ignited causing a small explosion,” Tampa’s ABC affiliate reported.
Police said there was no significant damage to the stadium, and the situation is now under control.
The Buccaneers have called Raymond James home since 1998. They are not scheduled to play at the stadium this week, instead slated to play a road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers to open their preseason Friday.
