DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down southwest of Dubuque.

The service says the twister struck around 10:05 p.m. Monday less than a mile from Dubuque, west of the airport, and lifted after churning only a few hundred yards. No injuries have been reported.

The service says the EF1 tornado had winds of around 100 mph (161 kph). It damaged corn, trees and the roofs of two houses.
