Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne won yet another WNBA Eastern Conference player of the week award and seems to be a likely candidate for league MVP.

It was Delle Donne’s sixth league award this season — four player of the week awards along with Eastern Conference player of the month for both June and July.

Delle Donne averaged 26.7 points and eight rebounds last week.

All the accolades seem to foreshadow a run at her second league MVP award. Sports Illustrated predicted Delle Donne to win the MVP title last week.

The Mystics sunk into a three-game skid after Delle Donne’s nasal fracture. Upon her return, the team began a five-game win streak. Delle Donne was the leading scorer in four out of those five games.

The Delaware native averages 18.7 points this season — the second-highest mark in the league. She is tied with the Phoenix Mercury’s DeWanna Bonner and comes in less than a point behind Bonner’s teammate, Brittney Griner.

Delle Donne also has the second-best free throw percentage and the fourth-best three-pointer percentage in the league.
