WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (AP) - A man and woman are in police custody after a fatal crash that killed a motorcyclist and a carjacking that led to a multi-county manhunt.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that 31-year-old Cody Bearry and 23-year-old Breanna Lynn Wright are suspected of running a red light and colliding with the motorcyclist Saturday. Killed was 26-year-old Angel Rodriguez Fiallos.

Investigators say Bearry and Wright abandoned their vehicle, ran to a gas station and stole a motorist’s car. They were spotted about six hours later miles away from the original crash. After a police pursuit, Wright was taken into custody but Bearry escaped.

Bearry was finally captured with the help of police dogs after running into woods and a canal.

It wasn’t immediately clear what charges the pair would face.
