PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Providence VA Medical Center is inviting veterans to a town hall meeting to get updates about their health care and benefits.

The medical center said Thursday that the town hall is planned for 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 15. It will be held in the auditorium of the center’s main hospital building on Chalkstone Avenue in Providence.

The VA New England Health Care System, Providence VA Medical Center and the Veterans Benefits Administration’s Providence Regional Office are jointly hosting it. Leaders from each entity plan to attend.

Dr. Susan MacKenzie, director of the Providence VA Medical Center, encourages veterans, their families and community partners to go to hear the update about veterans’ health care in New England and ask questions.
