MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - An airline is adding a direct weekly flight between Glacier National Park International Airport in northern Montana and LaGuardia Airport in New York.

Glacier Park International Airport Director Rob Ratkowski says the American Airline flight on Saturdays will begin next June.

American also plans to use bigger planes on two other Glacier Park International flights. The number of seats on flights serving Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth will increase from 76 to 160.

The Missoulian reports passenger traffic at the airport is up 33% since 2014.

Airport officials plan to add 40,000 square feet to the terminal’s ticketing, baggage and waiting areas while adding new gates.
