SEATTLE (AP) - The draft contract between Seattle Public Schools and the teachers union would give double-digit raises over the next three years.
The Seattle Times reported Sunday that the tentative agreement reached over the weekend includes a more than 11% raise for teachers and a more than 12% raise for para-educators and instructional assistants.
Under the deal, the salary range for Seattle teachers would be about $62,000 to $124,000 by 2022.
Members of the Seattle Education Association are set to vote on the contract Tuesday.
The deal would fund 10 school counselors, three nurses and two family support workers. It would also cover the costs of expanding teams that address racial bias.
The district did not respond to the newspaper’s questions about the cost of the deal.
