NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say two more bodies likely swept up from Mexico by monsoon storms have been recovered from a wash in Nogales, Arizona.

Santa Cruz County deputies were called out to an area about six miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border Monday.

They reported finding a woman’s body at the Nogales Wash that regularly floods during monsoon storms with rainwater draining from the Mexican side.

Nogales police were called later Monday about the body of a man at the Nogales Wash.

Last Thursday, sheriff’s deputies recovered another man’s body in the wash area.

Sheriff Tony Estrada told the Arizona Republic that preliminary information indicates four people were caught up in last week’s monsoon storm in Nogales, Sonora, and apparently were swept by raging floodwaters across the border into Nogales, Arizona.
