Former FBI Deputy Director and Trump antagonist Andrew McCabe has joined CNN as a commentator, the network reported Friday.

Mr. McCabe spent two decades at the FBI before he was fired in March 2018 after the Justice Department inspector general concluded he misled investigators about leaks to the media. His firing came less than 24 hours before his scheduled retirement.

The CNN job comes as Mr. McCabe fights his termination in federal court. He accused President Trump of pushing him out as part of a scheme to remove government employees who were “not politically loyal.”

Mr. McCabe has also written a book about his experiences with the president.

In February 2018, a 39-page inspector general report detailed multiple incidents where Mr. McCabe “lacked candor” while discussing the sensitive leak of information related to the FBI’s investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
