ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police have released the identity of the man shot dead in the town of St. Johnsbury.

Police say 37-year-old Neftaly Martinez, of Enfield, Connecticut, was found dead in an apartment on Wednesday night. The chief medical examiner’s office has ruled that the shooting was a homicide.

An autopsy determined that Martinez died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police have said that the incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the public. Police say witnesses reported seeing at least two vehicles fleeing the area.
