ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - A Philadelphia man charged with murder in the beating death of his younger brother in an Atlantic City casino hotel room has been extradited back to New Jersey.

Atlantic County prosecutors say 38-year-old John Villante was moved to the county jail on Friday. The transition was made public Monday.

Villante is charged with murder in the death of his younger brother, Joseph, who was found May 28 in a hotel room at Harrah’s casino. An autopsy determined the 32-year-old Philadelphia man died from numerous injuries, including blunt force trauma to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Villante was arrested two days later in Philadelphia. He’s due to appear in court Wednesday in New Jersey for a detention hearing. It wasn’t clear Monday if he’s retained an attorney.
