The Washington Redskins have resisted trading left tackle Trent Williams as the left tackle continues his holdout, telling opposing teams they will not be dealing the seven-time Pro Bowler, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Further, three teams — including the New England Patriots — are actively pursuing Williams, according to NBC Sports Washington.
If Williams is moved, Schefter said on The Team 980 on Tuesday that he thinks a first-round and a sixth-round pick could probably get a deal done. He also added while the Redskins aren’t open to trading Williams now, they could always change their minds in the future. CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora tweeted Monday it’s only a “matter of time” before Williams is dealt.
Adam Schefter on with @kevinsheehanDC right now - suggests a 1st & 6th round pick could prob get a Trent Williams trade done. Says right now Skins aren’t trading Trent, but adds that can change.

Williams has shown no indication he plans on reporting to the Redskins anytime soon. The 31-year-old is upset over his contract and with the team’s medical staff over the handling of a benign tumor on his scalp, which needed to be surgically removed.
Williams has two years left on his contract, worth $25 million.
Asked about the possibility of trading Williams, coach Jay Gruden said on Aug. 4 he “seriously” doubts that would happen.
