AUBURN, Maine (AP) - Police have arrested a 21-year-old man they say fatally shot a man in a Walmart parking lot in Auburn.

Police say they have charged Gage Dalphonse with murder in the death of 41-year-old Turner resident Jean Fournier, who died at a Lewiston hospital after the shouting Saturday night. Police said Wednesday an autopsy shows he died of gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.

A car driven to the parking lot by the shooter was taken to the state police crime lab for analysis.

Dalphonse was expected to appear Friday in Androscoggin Superior Court. Court records don’t yet list a defense attorney.

Police are still investigating Fournier’s death. Witnesses told the Sun Journal the two men got into a dispute just before Fournier was shot.
