The grades are in and the Washington Redskins earned high marks for this year’s draft.
Twitter user Rene Bugner compiled 18 draft evaluations, finding the Redskins tied for the best “GPA” in the league. Washington, based on Bugner’s method, came away with a 3.74 GPA — tied with the New England Patriots.

The Redskins, who took 10 players total, received praise for landing quarterback Dwayne Haskins without having to trade up and also moving back into the first round for defensive end Montez Sweat. They were also lauded for their late value finds, such as taking wide receiver Kelvin Harmon in the sixth round.
Here’s a roundup of how various outlets graded the Redskins, as well as a sample of what they’re saying:
NFL.com: B+, “The fact that they did not have to move up to get Haskins was a major bonus.”
Bleacher Report: A+, “If Montez Sweat is healthy, the Redskins will have a game-changing pass rusher.”
New York Post, A+, “RB Bryce Love is a home-run threat behind Derrius Guice once Guice recovers from torn ACL.”
USA Today, A-, “The ’Skins not only averted the rumored disaster, they showed atypical patience and potentially walked away with two first-round blue chippers in QB Dwayne Haskins and OLB Montez Sweat.”
ESPN, A-, “After a turbulent end to the season, this team is back on track. Haskins and Sweat, two top-12 prospects on my board, push this class over the top.”
SB Nation, A-, “Sometimes the draft is about getting lucky. That was the case when quarterback Dwayne Haskins slipped to No. 15.”
