She hasn’t held a press briefing in more than 40 days, but White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took questions from children in the press room Thursday to celebrate “Take Your Kids to Work Day.”

Vice President Mike Pence also dropped in on the excited kids, taking questions for several minutes at the podium.

The White House said the event was off the record, but Mrs. Sanders did make some news, announcing that President Trump will speak next month at the Air Force Academy graduation in Colorado. She also said NASCAR driver Joey Logano will be visiting the White House soon.

Mrs. Sanders hasn’t held a briefing for journalists in the press room since March 11, although the White House has conducted numerous call-in briefings for reporters on a variety of topics. She said last year that Mr. Trump’s regular interactions with the media lessen the need for daily press briefings.
