Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa was drafted No. 2 overall to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL draft on Thursday, but many football fans are going to remember him for his comments about President Donald Trump.
Bosa said in an interview earlier this spring that he deleted tweets expressing support for Trump because “I might end up in San Francisco,” a notably liberal-leaning city.
Bosa also opined that the music of Beyonce was “complete trash” and that “Black Panther” was “the worst Marvel movie.”
Leading up to the draft, some fans took issue with Bosa’s opinions and tried to expose them, although they did not seem to hurt his draft stock.
Just a reminder for everyone coming to the #NFLDraft:

Nick Bosa linked to white nationalism, Ed Oliver’s college coach got mad he wore a jacket on the sideline during a game. Let’s guess which one has been discussed on the week of the #NFLDraft?

But San Francisco judged Bosa on his football abilities, and he went behind only quarterback Kyler Murray in the draft.
