HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Marshall University’s Board of Governors has approved a 4% pay boost for faculty and staff as part of increases for state workers approved by the Legislature.
The Marshall board on Thursday passed a $306 million budget, up $4 million over last year. The budget includes a 3.5% tuition and fee increase approved earlier this month for the fall semester.
The university pay raises for about 1,400 employees are effective July 6 for 12-month employees and in August for nine-month workers.
State allocations make up most of the faculty pay increase at Marshall, which had to fund the remaining part of it.
The Marshall board also approved a physician assistant degree program, which would begin in January 2021.
