DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Police have charged a man in the death of a 25-year-old man whose body was found in a north Des Moines parking lot.
Detectives on Monday charged 19-year-old Larontez Javon Buchanan, of Des Moines, with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Darryn Boles Brooks. Police say Buchanan was being held with the Iowa Department of Corrections on an unrelated charge.
Police say they were called about 1:15 a.m. on March 9 to a parking lot for a report of a person down and found a body identified as Boles Brooks, also a Des Moines resident.
