CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming’s lone congresswoman is off to a fast start raising money for the next election cycle.

Federal reports show Republican Liz Cheney raised just over $321,000 in the first quarter of 2019.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports that’s nearly four times more than Cheney raised in the first quarter of 2018 and over double what she raised in the first quarter of 2017. Cheney raised nearly $760,000 at the outset of the 2016 cycle.

Individual donors account for nearly $180,000 of Cheney’s funding. Another $142,000 comes from political action committees with interests ranging from sugar processing to the energy and telecommunications industries.

So far this quarter, Cheney has transferred $150,000 she has raised to the National Republican Congressional Committee. The committee funds Republican candidates in competitive races across the country.
