TRAVELERS REST, S.C. (AP) - Once it housed government offices in a South Carolina city. Now, it’s a place of worship.

The Greenville News reports that the former Travelers Rest City Hall is now being used by Trailside Church.

The Travelers Rest City Council agreed to lease the building to the church for $2,750 a month.

The building had been vacant since October 2018, when the city relocated administrative offices, police department, municipal court, and a visitors’ center into a new $6 million, 14,700 square-foot building.

Travelers Rest city clerk Gail Braziel said City hall employees had worked at the old location since 1985.
