ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - A longtime Florida sports broadcaster is facing charges he tried to solicit a 14-year-old boy.
The Tampa Bay Times said 37-year-old Justin Pawlowski was arrested in his St. Petersburg home last week on charges of transmitting harmful material to a minor.
Authorities say Pawlowski in February contacted an undercover Tampa police officer who pretended to be a 14-year-old boy in a chatroom titled “Tampa Teens 14-18.”
Police said the broadcaster sent an explicit photo of himself and expressed interest in meeting with the child.
Known as “The Commish,” Pawlowski hosted radio shows at Tampa station WDAE-AM from 2007 to 2017. He worked for the Buccaneers Radio Network for two football seasons and continued to produce his own podcast “Bucs Uncensored,” posting his latest episode on the day of his arrest.
