HOLIDAY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man crashed his car into a Florida home and left a large amount of marijuana and cash when he fled the scene.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that the crash occurred early Monday morning in a Holiday neighborhood.

Florida Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Derrick Rowland Zio was speeding when he lost control and left the road. Troopers say Zio clipped a utility police and slammed into the house.

Officials say Zio was gone by the time police arrived at the scene, but Pasco County deputies found him a few blocks away.

A man was in the house at the time of the crash, but no injuries were reported.

Zio faces charges that include driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash, reckless driving and felony drug charges.
