RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) - One of the few female security guards at a Washington plant that fabricates uranium fuel for nuclear power plants has filed a discrimination lawsuit against her former employer.

The Tri-City Herald reported on Tuesday that Brenda Buccarelli claims in a lawsuit filed in federal court that harassment by her male co-workers at the Framatome plant in Richland included having urine and feces wiped on the toilet lid of the woman’s guard restroom and having an obscenity etched into the lenses of her pink safety glasses.

Framatome says it has no comment on any ongoing litigation.

Buccarelli’s attorney, William Gilbert, says she repeatedly reported the issues to management and human resources, only to be faced with escalating retaliation.

No specific damage amount is requested in the lawsuit.
