Washington Capitals fans … will want to forget that last game.
A 5-0 drubbing brought the Carolina Hurricanes back into the first-round Stanley Cup Playoff series, but the Capitals still lead 2-1. Will the Hurricanes draw even while they still have the advantage of playing at home, or will Washington move one step closer to advancing?
Here’s everything you need to know before Game 4:
Opponent: Carolina Hurricanes (Capitals lead series 2-1)
When: Thursday, April 18, 7 p.m.
Where: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina
TV channel: NBC Sports Network, NBC Sports Washington
Radio: 106.7 The Fan
What to watch for: The Capitals have the fewest shots on goal of any team this postseason with 69 (Carolina has recorded 102) … Washington defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler will make his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Game 4 in place of Christian Djoos, who averaged a mere 7:24 per game on the ice in the first three games … Hurricanes goalie Petr Mrazek only has a .897 save percentage so far in the series. On the other hand, of Mrazek’s five career playoff wins with Detroit and Carolina, four of them — including Monday’s — were shutouts.
