DRAPER, Utah (AP) - A former high school English teacher incarcerated in Utah for sexually abusing three students is seeking parole.

The Deseret News reports 39-year-old Brianne Altice on Tuesday went before the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole, saying she believes she now has the confidence needed to never make the same mistakes again.

The former Davis High School teacher pleaded guilty in 2015 to three counts of forcible sexual abuse stemming from sexual relationships with students who were 16 or 17 at the time. Her combined penalties resulted in a sentence of two to 30 years in prison.

Under state sentencing guidelines, Altice would be released in January 2020. If she were to serve her full sentence, she would be released in January 2045.

The board is expected to reach a decision in two to three weeks.
