Russell Wilson became the latest quarterback to receive a new contract, agreeing to a four-year, $140 million extension with the Seattle Seahawks. Will Dak Prescott be next?

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan that there are some “pretty active discussions” regarding new deals for Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Both players are entering the last year of their contracts in 2019.

Prescott is coming off a season in which he threw for 3,885 yards and helped lead the Cowboys to the playoffs. His performance dramatically improved once Dallas acquired Cooper midseason from the Oakland Raiders. The 25-year-old went from averaging 202.4 passing yards per game to 274.2 once Cooper arrived.

Cooper, meanwhile, had 725 yards on 53 catches in nine games with the Cowboys — hauling in six touchdowns, as well.

Last week, Jones said that Prescott’s new deal must be “team friendly.”

At the same time, and I know Dak wants this, you want a supporting cast,” Jones said. “That’s the way to go down as being one of the great quarterbacks to ever play the game: win championships.

The Cowboys have already given out one large contract this offseason, giving star defensive end Demarcus Lawrence a five-year, $105 million extension earlier this month.
