President Trump said Monday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is actually a subordinate to Rep. Ilhan Omar, adding that the California Democrat should look at Ms. Omar’s “anti-Semitic” comments before defending her.

“Before Nancy, who has lost all control of Congress and is getting nothing done, decides to defend her leader, Rep. Omar, she should look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful U.S. HATE statements Omar has made. She is out of control, except for her control of Nancy,” Mr. Trump tweeted.

Ms. Omar, Minnesota Democrat and one of the first two Muslim women in Congress, has faced accusations of anti-Semitism since criticizing pro-Israel lobbyist groups and questioning the loyalty of Jewish lawmakers who pushed back against her criticisms of the Israeli government.

The president tweeted an edited video Friday of an Omar speech from last month in which she referred to the Sept. 11 attacks as “some people [doing] something,” spliced with footage of the attack on the World Trade Center.

Ms. Omar said in a statement Sunday that she has “experienced an increase in direct threats” on her life since Mr. Trump’s tweet, leading Ms. Pelosi to ask the House sergeant-at-arms to conduct a safety assessment.
