President Trump called Monday for investigations into former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee, all while touting Attorney General William P. Barr’s favorable summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
“Mueller, and the A.G. based on Mueller findings (and great intelligence), have already ruled No Collusion, No Obstruction. These were crimes committed by Crooked Hillary, the DNC, Dirty Cops and others! INVESTIGATE THE INVESTIGATORS,” Mr. Trump tweeted.
Mr. Barr said during a House committee hearing Wednesday that the White House did not review the four-page synopsis of Mr. Mueller’s probe into election interference when it was released, but he refused to answer whether the White House has seen the full report since then.
The attorney general released the summary last month, saying Mr. Mueller exonerated Mr. Trump and his campaign from any collusion with Russia but chose to not make a determination on obstruction of justice.
Mr. Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said there is not enough evidence to pursue charges for obstruction of justice.
