MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A university in Georgia will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on its $5 million science lab annex building.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Kennesaw State University ceremony is set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18 on its Marietta campus.

The university says the 10,411-square-foot (967-square-meter) addition to the Engineering Lab building will feature two biology and two chemistry labs to “meet the growing need for science majors in the workforce.”

Construction on the annex is scheduled to be finished in December.
