Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis can finally claim his first hit of 2019.
Davis hit a single to right field with the bases loaded in the first inning of Baltimore’s game at the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, ending his historic streak of futility at the plate.
Davis had gone 0-for-33 to start the season and an MLB record 0-for-54 dating back to 2018.

Two Orioles came in to score on the play, while Davis stayed at first base and his teammates celebrated for him in the dugout.
Davis also earned cheers from Red Sox fans at Fenway Park, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Davis wasn’t done, though. The slugger finished 3-for-5 with four RBI as the Orioles won, 9-5.
