UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - A landscaper working at a northern New Jersey shopping center was accidentally struck and killed when a truck driven by a co-worker backed over him.

The man was hit around 10:15 a.m. Friday at the Greenleaf center in Union Township. He was taken to a hospital but died there a short time later.

Authorities say the landscaper was laying mulch on the property when he was struck by his colleague. The names of the two workers have not been released.

No other injuries were reported in the accident.

It wasn’t immediately clear if any charges would be filed. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing
