CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Records show that University of Wyoming’s board of trustees flew to Arizona where university President Laurie Nichols was vacationing just before the university announced Nichols would not stay on as president.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Board President Dave True, Vice President Jeff Marsh, Secretary Kermit Brown and Treasurer John McKinley are all listed on a university report for a March 15 flight on the trustees’ private plane to Glendale Municipal Airport.
The airport is a short drive from a condo owned by Nichols and her husband.
The plane departed from the Arizona airport after about 90 minutes.
True says he can’t comment on the flights.
Nichols, through her office, also declined comment.
The university announced March 25 that Nichols’ contract would be allowed to run out June 30 and she would then become a faculty member.
