MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - State public health officials say employees and patrons of a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in northern Delaware may have been exposed to the Hepatitis A virus.
Officials say anyone who ate or drank at the restaurant in Middletown between March 31 and April 10 should consider contacting their health care provider for further guidance. Restaurant workers are also encouraged to contact health care providers and perhaps get the Hepatitis A vaccine or a shot of immune globulin to prevent severe illness.
Officials say management was notified Wednesday and voluntarily closed the restaurant for cleaning and sanitizing before reopening Thursday.
Hepatitis A is a viral infection of the liver that is typically contracted when a person unknowingly ingests it through objects, food, or drinks contaminated by feces of an infected person.
