WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut mother and her boyfriend charged with taking the woman’s three children to Mexico without authorization have been held on six-figure bond.

The Republican-American reports that Crystal McGrath was held on $580,000 bond and Lester Joy was held on $500,000 bond during an appearance Monday in Waterbury Superior Court to face custodial interference and risk of injury to a child charges. They didn’t enter pleas and no attorneys were listed in court records.

They were extradited from Texas after they were taken into custody last month in Mazatlan, Mexico, where the children ages 7, 5 and 2 were found unharmed.

Authorities say McGrath, who doesn’t have custody, took them out a side door of a Waterbury McDonald’s in February during a visit supervised by the state Department of Children and Families.
