Liberal documentarian Michael Moore is being sued by his ex-wife, film producer Kathleen Glynn, after she claims he cheated her out of movie profits.
The couple split in 2014 after 23 years of marriage and at least 25 years in business together. Ms. Glynn produced several of Mr. Moore’s major film projects including “Bowling for Columbine” and “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
“She was the driving force in the making of many of [his] films and other ventures in which Mr. Moore was the featured personality, dating back to their first big success, ’Roger and Me’ (1989),” Ms. Glynn’s attorney Bonnie Rabin said in the Manhattan Supreme Court suit filed this week, the New York Post reported.
The suit accused Mr. Moore of shirking a binding arbitration that was required to “flesh out the terms of an important provision in their property settlement.”
The suit claimed that Mr. Moore was supposed to pay his ex-wife 4 percent of total revenue from his creative works — but he gave her just $541 in 2014, the same year their divorce was finalized, the Post reported. Ms. Glynn thinks the award-winning filmmaker is holding out on her and lying to the IRS, the Post reported.
Mr. Moore did not respond to the Post’s messages seeking comment.
