MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it has provide more than $1.1 million to help communities recoup costs associated with a severe storm and flooding last fall in New Hampshire.
President Donald Trump signed the disaster declaration in January, and FEMA has been working with local officials to provide grants in Belknap, Carroll, Coos, Grafton, Merrimack and Sullivan counties.
Under the program, FEMA offers grants to eligible applicants through cost sharing. FEMA typically covers at least 75 percent of the eligible costs.
The storm struck the state from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1. At the peak of the storm, about 270,000 customers were in the dark in the state.
