PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Democratic Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo continues to outspend her rivals for re-election by a wide margin, while Republican Allan Fung remains the financial leader of the GOP primary.
According to a filing Wednesday night with the state Board of Elections, Raimondo’s campaign spent $690,000 from Aug. 15 through Sept. 4. WPRI-TV reports the governor has now spent nearly $4 million on her re-election bid since the beginning of the year.
The filing also shows she took in an additional $236,000 in contributions over the last three weeks.
On the Republican side, Fung’s campaign spent $160,000 from Aug. 15 through Sept. 4. The Cranston mayor also took in an additional $51,000 over the same period, leaving him with $227,000 on hand as of Tuesday
