The anonymous hit job masked as a “service to our readers” — otherwise known as the latest New York Times editorial — is nothing but the work of a White House “saboteur,” screamed Drudge Report’s top headline in the aftermath of the widely reported op-ed that claims insiders are working within the White House to control — i.e., take down — President Donald Trump.

Good word; fitting word.

Now more than a day into a new news cycle, the anonymously published piece that paints a negative picture of this president is pretty much all anyone’s talking about — and that’s with a Supreme Court nomination before the Senate for questioning, too.

The scabies at the New York Times must be reeling from their power trip.

The piece is titled, “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration,” and it claims to be written by someone who works for Trump but is simultaneously working with “like-minded colleagues” “to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”

The New York Times defends the anonymously penned piece, saying “we believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers.”

That’s code for: This is one heck of an attack on the president and we just couldn’t let it go unpublished.

Drudge’s headline put it well: “NYT: Saboteur Inside White House.”

An apt subtitle?

Here’s one: “NYT Falls to New Low With Dirty Journalism.”

Cowards, cowardly, cowardice — not only from the cowardly writer, but from the cowardly decision-makers at the New York Times. Plenty of mud to go around on this one.
