PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A new bike-sharing service has opened for business in Providence.

The company JUMP Bikes, which is owned by Uber, has launched the electric, pedal-assisted bikes.

Rides will cost $2 for every 30 minutes and then 7 cents per minute after that.

The bikes can be parked anywhere within the service area. Users can access the bikes through either the Uber app or a JUMP mobile app.
