NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A man has been accused of attacking a Walmart employee in South Carolina.
News outlets cited a police report on Tuesday as saying 25-year-old Deshaud Ali Gourdine has been arrested and charged with assault and other offenses in the attack that happened last week.
Police say the worker was inside the store when three men approached. One man took a revolver out of his pocket and started punching the employee. The worker was able to wrestle the gun away and strike the man several times in the head with it.
The man fled the store bleeding and had dropped a cellphone. The two other men left before him.
Police found the phone and identified Gourdine and the other men. It is unclear if he has a lawyer who could comment.
